Hey Blog Fam!

I know, I've been MIA for a minute now, and I'm sorry! I have no excuses other than being busy and writing for someone else - so I hope you get a chance to check out some of my other posts on Madamenoire.com.

My post today is simply a question. Is there really a such thing as a homewrecker?

Some say that if a relationship or marriage is happy, healthy and strong, no one can come in and wreck it. It must've been wrecked already if someone is able to swoop in and snag your man or woman.

However, others think that it's possible to be happy in your relationship, but be caught off-guard and slip into an emotional affair with someone else that later becomes physical. Maybe you "thought" you were fulfilled at home, or thought you'd never cheat, only to meet someone wonderful who you feel is a better match for you than your current spouse or partner.

So what say you? Is there a such thing as a homewrecker? Should the only people responsible for a breakup be the people who are actually IN the relationship - or do outside people have a responsibility to not interfere with others' relationships as well?

Go!

It takes two to tango...so the blame doesn't always fall solely on the woman/homewrecker :)

Brooke, I missed you!!

And where is Fury??? We missed TMI Tuesday last week!

I think there IS a such thing as a homewrecker...and that person is the one who's in the relationship. I think only people in a relationship can wreck it, not anyone else.

HOWEVER, I will say other men and women should have more pride and dignity with themselves and not get involved with married people or those in relationships. If you're meant to be with that person, you will be...when they're SINGLE.

I beat you John!! LOL!!

I think if you're involved with a married man or woman, and you KNOW it, and then that spouse later finds out about you and is hurt and subsequently files for divorce because of it, especially if they think their marriage is a good one, then YES - YOU ARE A HOMEWRECKER. I think that term applies to people who are complicit in deceit.

Now, if the person you're involved with is legally separated, has moved out and there is NO relationship there, then no, I don't think that's being a homewrecker. But if the man or woman you're seeing goes home to someone ELSE night after night, and y'all are sneaking around hotels or out of town or have some secret password or something, then your ass is a homewrecker and the other person is a douche.

In the bible, it says that the person who is cheating is committing adultery AND SO IS THE PERSON THEY'RE CHEATING WITH...so I think that's some version of a homewrecker. I do think that men and women should take some responsibility for their actions, and if that includes sleeping with married men or women, you're just as guilty.

Arrrgh..I guess I was...almost first...: ) My answer is simply "no". People make choices to step into relationsips outside of the one that they currently might be involved in and if the so called "homewrecker" is up on everything and everyone participating,my thing is all's fair in love and war. Don't hate the playa,hate the game. Can't wreck a home that's built on a soild foundation.

I'll admit it, I've cheated before in relationships. And no one made me do it. Sometimes I lied and said I was single, or I lied and said I was in a situation that I was unhappy with, or sometimes I even told the truth and women dealt with me anyway. I think the people in the relationship are the only ones who are responsible for it, no one else. I don't expect the next bitch to care what my girl thinks or feels, because honestly, most women I've dealt with don't care enough about themselves to keep their legs closed, so why should they care about my girl? At the end of the day, if I fucked up my relationship, I did it on my own and no one was to blame but me. Real talk.

@The Cable Guy, luv your response!

The onous is on the person who's in the relationship. How can I be a homewrecker if I don't have a willing participate? (i.e the married man, etc.)

This is making me think of Stevie J and Love and Hip Hop: ATL. I think Joseline gets a bad rap because she was messing with a man in a relationship, but this nikka got 5 baby mamas! so I'm sure Mimi knew what type of man she had LONG before Joseline came along. Her home was not built on a solid foundation like John said, so it's going to crumble, no matter who the other woman is. Take responsibility for your own relationship and if your man leaves you for some trick bitch, then let his ass go.

Speaking of the pics, I hope D. Wade's wife gets her shit together. She's so hurt she's hurting herself and her kids. I think D. Wade is a asshole, but she shouldn't let him make her look crazy. I want her to do better.

Alicia Keys just seems like a hypocrite to me. But whatever.

Angelina Jolie? I wouldn't let her within 3 feet of my man!

@Cable Guy,

I cosign. The sad part is, there will ALWAYS be a woman (or man) who is willing to cheat with you, so if you happen to be with a man or woman who doesn't respect you enough to be faithful, then you're better off without them and you should be glad they did you the favor of showing their true colors so you can be rid of them.

@Stef - D wades wife has to hit him in the pockets!!

Stef said...

@Anonymous,

I don't even think she can do THAT at this point, because he has sole custody of the kids, so she doesn't get child support probably. AND, if she keeps acting up, she might get her alimony discontinued. She needs to just lay in the cut and collect her money. Let Gabby Union have him! He ain't worth all this drama.

maybe no such thing as a homewrecker, but there are some lowlife skanks out there willing to sleep with your man.
