Happy Hump Day!
Thank you to everyone who sent me their get-well wishes. I was sick yesterday and I'm still feeling a bit under the weather today, but I'm back....at least for now anyway!
Today, the word of the day is Zeitgeist.
Zeitgeist (pronounced tsīt'gīst) is a German language expression literally translated: Zeit, time; Geist, spirit, meaning "the spirit of the age and its society". The word zeitgeist describes the intellectual, cultural, ethical and political climate of an era or also a trend.
In 1769 Herder wrote a critique of the work Genius seculi by the philologist Christian Adolph Klotz and introduced the word Zeitgeist into German as a translation of genius seculi (Latin: genius - "guardian spirit" and saeculi - "of the century").
Now that you've all had your vocabulary lesson for the day, let me tell you why I chose this word. I believe Barack Obama is zeitgeist - the "guardian spirit of the century." I believe he personifies our collective consciousness to the shared beliefs and moral attitudes which will serve as a unifying force within our country. He is that movement. His time is now.

I think I said this in one of my earlier blogs - God has a hand in this too. With the election less than a week away, I feel my spirit rising. The spirit of a nation is rising. That spirit has been alive and active throughout America's history, and now the spirit of this nation is at a crucial stage in our history again. Not just this country's history, but world history. The realization of Barack Obama's zeitgeist is about to manifest. Our world is about to be changed.
It's Zeitgeist. It's Divine Order. I believe the spirit of a people, the spirit of a nation, will spill over to become a UNIVERSAL SPIRIT. Just as in the rising of the sun, the changing of the tides and the spinning of the Earth - Barack Obama's zeitgeist follows the pattern of the universe.
One week from today, we will be taking delight in God's manifestation of Divine Order at work. Barack Obama's purpose will be perfect in it's time and place in our lives - his zeitgeist supremely evident and nothing short of miraculous!
Vote November 4th!

This comment is not meant to offend anyone's Spiritual beliefs. I just need clarity.
As a White Male and supporter of Obama, I would like to understand why you feel Senator Obama's current political run and his soon to be presidency is God's Divine Order?
I view this historical event in one word: CHANGE. The society as a whole is changing. Sure we have a long way to go. But overall many of us understand that we need a man like Mr. Obama in the office to restore our country.

Please don't take words litterally. What's occuring right now in this country is obviously historical and exciting. Everyone is interpreting their excitement in their own way. Some see it as divine order, some explain it as the holy ghost, and many just simply feel good. I believe since we have unfortunatlly endured 8 years of lies and deceit I welcome anyway an individual embraces this new change and I hope that feeling brings us to victory on the 4th. "das tut gut" German for Feels Good....

An historical change is in process!!! If you are still, listen and watch. Not just in the US, but worldwide the feeling of what Obama presidency means. You would only have to ask someone who has seen so many things this nation has gone through. You would start to get why people have endured 12 hours of standing in line to cast their votes or for me to view my great grandfather’s deed to the family farm and see legal language that states “No one of color can hold title”(thank God he was fair skin!!). You start to put things in perspective of MLK “I have a Dream” speech. There are so many things converging at this moment in time….this moment in history. Obama’s unifying vision and inclusive design that all must be included in the American Dream. But also of how the American Dream is achieved. Bush’s approach has been that the end justifies the means. Both home and abroad we will see a new approach to treat all countries, governments and people with a common level of respect and see the common purpose of all.
In contrast to what the past 8 years of Bush policies and where the US’s world prominence has diminished. I think that momentous run for that Obama has almost achieved and the class in which has done it. A large amount of respect is earned by example. I truly look forward to the example in which Obama will govern and allow the US to be that ambassador to the world.
However you view Obama’s leadership ~ it is note worthy that it is a positive change, a needed change and welcomed change. It’s not done yet, but it is in sight and we have to get out and vote!!!

When I say it's God's Divine order, I mean that it's destined. If you are not a spiritual or religious person, then I can see how that statement may seem a bit extreme. But as a believer in something greater than myself, I see EVERYTHING is in divine order. Not just Obama becoming president. We can look at every aspect of our lives and determine to what degree and detail that divinity has fashioned our lives. I don't believe anything happens by accident. There are times when, despite all our efforts to go in one direction, the current of life takes us in another. And I believe Barack Obama will take us in the direction of change. There were many thing against him - his so-called inexperience, raising funds on his own, going up against a strong opponent in Hillary Clinton - who all but claimed the candidacy to be hers - to the color of his skin. With all these things working against him, he seemed to come out of nowhere to stun the nation. That is what I call Divine Order. Some call it the hand of God. Some call it luck. Some call it genius.
Everyone can call it what they want. Since this blog expresses my views and welcomes the views of everyone, I was simply stating what I BELIEVE.
To be plain, I personally believe that if you believe in a higher spirit, you are able to experience all that life has to offer from a higher perspective. I believe that if you have God in your life, no experience, no goal, no dream is out of your reach. And that is what I believe is happening with Barack Obama.
My view, simply that.
