TGIF!!
**The following blog was written last night (earlier this morning?) after the game**
Why am I up? Cuz the damn SU v. UConn game went into 6....yes y'all, I said SIX!!! OVERTIMES!!! My heart was beating out my chest! For those of you who didn't see it or stay up to catch the end, you missed the best CLASSIC, HISTORY MAKING GAME EVER!! And I'm SO PROUD my Syracuse Orangemen were a part of it!
I was up with Dre, Serena, Rameer, Maliek, Dwayne, Yolanda, Tanya, Cymando, Moses, Satie, Elimu, April H, Renee, Miko, Marvelie, Edward, and thousands of other SU alum, fans and whoever else was bleeding orange tonight on Facebook! That was fun, and I felt the love from my SU family! Anyone who doubted us can KICK ROCKS!
For those who missed it, here is a clue of the madness that went down at the Garden last night - beginning with the made shot THAT DIDN'T COUNT that sent us into OVERTIME HELL!
I can barely sleep now, but I know I have to. I wish I had better video to show you, but the game ended not that long ago and nothing has really been uploaded yet - Serena and I checked. When I find better video, then I'll change it(**UPDATE - I found a better clip which is now posted***)...but for now, I'm taking my ass to bed, with my orange and blue sweats on...and my orange socks! We play again tonight...if we have something left! It was fun staying up with y'all! Go Orange!
-b
P.S. I may be back with another blog later...but I had to get this up now, I'm so happy! Okay....sleep.

FIRST, FIRST, FIRST!!!!!
Now to leave a comment before Annamaria tases me! The refs were buffonery! Yes I had to use your word Brooke! But that game was simply incredible! I had friends cheering Let's Go Orange and they went to different schools! Even they felt the energy!!!!!!
If ESPN or someone was smart they would make this game into a DVD and sell it! I know I'd buy it!!!!!
Girl, that game was amazing! I'm sure ESPN is on that RIGHT now!
Oh and if Syracuse was smart they would package that bad boy and sell it right around graduation ;-)
They will!
Let me just say, the reason I am up is because I just got home from Madison Square Garden. I cannot begin to describe what it was like to be there. The atmoshere was unreal.
I will blog about my day in the morning. I am very pround to represent Orange...and i had to shut up so UCONN fans...
MANNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!! WHAT A GAME!!!!
Incredible. The best (and worst if you wanna go there) ever! Agreed, the refs were ridiculous. And for a while, I really did believe someone hexed us because we could not BUY a basket to save our lives-- even when we were on top of the basket. That was some crazy stuff. So I prayed on that sucker I must admit. Something had to drop!!!
Man, I am so proud of us. I pray our team can restore its energy so it can get out there and do the same thing if need be. Too bad that wasn't the final. Kudos to UConn for giving all they had. It just made the victory that much sweeter.
I just feel bad for the bench players as Coach B referred to them as "nothing". That was pretty foul. "We had 'nothing' out there..." Talk about rough. Oh well. Some folks, no matter how much moola you give them, never gain any couth. It is what it is...
Alright, onto West Virginia. GO SU!!!
Oh my goodness!!! I am so hyped but tired!!! It was phenomenal...but heart wrenching...I was trying to explain to my boyfriend about the whole Orange Mania...he just looked at me like I was crazy (LOL...I might be a little...). I enjoyed going back and forth with everyone!!
I hope tonight will be a great game as well...and that they have enough energy to pull off another great game...there is no doubt...Da Cuse got mad HEART!!!
It is going to be a rough day...but I will smile with Orange Pride!!
What time does the game come on? Hey Tanya...tell your man get on the bus! I had non SU fans shouting Let's Go Orange! He'll be okay sweetie!
KP I miss you girl! Yes the refs were reeeeeediculous and Anthony please blog later, I want to know what the energy was like at the Garden! Wow I can't believe you were there!
Yes, Ant was there updating from his phone, that must have been AWESOME to be there!!! I was so jealous of him as the game went into it's first overtime! LOL!!
The refs were crazy. I was screaming, "NO FOUL???" at my tv to the point where I KNOW my neighbors were hating me. Despite the refs, AND Harris not being able to make a freakin layup!, we pulled it through. I agree KP, Coach B calling the second string "nothing" was messed up. Those "nothings" helped pull us through. I hope when he said that, he really meant we had "nothing" meaning "energy." Who knows.
Still, GREAT GAME!! Serena, are we gonna be up again tonight? :-) Tanya, your man betta recognize!
Tanya...u better warn your boyfriend that to love you is love the Orange...it's a package deal. Any problems, my car is made for road trips - and I KEEP trashbags in my trunk for fools...Lol!
Ant - sooooooooo wish I could've been there to experience what you did. You're blessed, my man.
Kels - we only GOT into that predicament cuz of bad mojo! LMAO...
I had a HUGE war going on all over Facebook with a bunch of female alums who felt it necessary to trash our uniforms during the game. I kept telling them is we lost, it would be THEIR FAULT - every guy who has ever played a sport knows you don't talk ill of the team while they're playing!! It's bad luck! If we had lost, I'd be unbearble for all humans on Earth today.
Brooke - you'll be happy to know that chick restored my computer to it's previous status. To be honest, nothing would've happened today if she didn't - I'm too high off the Orange win to fight! If we had lost and she didn't...you'd hear about me on CNN.
I BLEED Orange myself. No, seriously - even Syracuse heads look at me sometimes like "dude..." - LMAO! But it's like people don't understand us. It's usually people who either didn't go to a school with a lot of pride there, didn't go to school at all, and/or have never been a part of a deep community outside of their own family.
I go through that a lot where I live - they love to hate, cuz all the sports teams in Buffalo either suck or always fail in the end in heartbreaking fashion. I hear about "you Syracuse" people all the time, cuz every one of us, no matter the age, career, etc. bleeds orange! But in all actuality, it's the same for everyone I know how went to similar schools - my Penn State friends are rabid about the Nittany Lions, my Mich. State girl loves her Spartans, my UNC peoples ride for Carolina Blue.
A lot of times people subconsciously get jealous or feel left out cuz they themselves don't have anything to connect to like what we have or anything to stir up those feelings of pride. They're no part of a community that really is like a family. I seriously meet people, and if they're alums, we instantly become friends. I don't mean like "oh, that's cool" type stuff - I mean like, if we stay in contact, real chums. Cuz we have the commonality; we get it, we KNOW. We all feel the joys and pians in our soul, from every pore in our body.
I was talking to an older alum the other day about when we won the National Championship...he told me "I know this is gonna sound like I'm a punk, but I actually cried when we won". I told him - I was inconsolable when we won! I was so overcome with emotion...I was working that night, and when the game started, I literally refused to listen to anyone or do anything for the rest of the night. Our newscast started at 11pm, and I was master control - my friend Maria jumped in to do it, cuz I was in another world. They tell me people were trying to talk to me, and screaming for me over headsets - I was out of it. My whole world was Syracuse at that point.
When Hakim Warrick blocked that shot, I SCREAMED an unworldly scream. I couldn't mimic the sound now if I tried for a month. When the game ended a minute later and we were on the court celebrating, I screamed EVEN LOUDER. So loud, in fact, that- TRUE STORY - we were still on the air, but you could hear my scream all the way down the hall in the news studio. Mind you, the studio is set up so that you really shouldn't be able to hear sounds outside of the studio...But you heard ME. One of our anchors, in the middle of reporting a story, stopped the story and said "well, apparently Syracuse had just won the national championship, judging by the ungodly screaming of one of my co-workers!" The other anchor goes "somebody better go check and see if Rameer's still alive or if he just exploded".
So millions of people knew I was going ballistic...
Afterwards I couldn't talk. I was shaking. People were trying to come talk to me to congratulate me...and I couldn't look at them. Maria put her arms around me and shooed everyone away and told them "just leave him alone...give him a minute". It was THAT DEEP for me.
Do I bleed Orange? HELL YES I DO. When I get mad, I don't black out - I ORANGE OUT. If I have a choice of colors for anything, I always ask for Orange. Even my cell phone is Orange. When we watch our teams, it's US. It's not just watching our favorite team, we're watching US our there. We feel their pain, we live their joy. When something happens on campus, it happens to US. We feel the happiness, the outrage, the need to react. We are genetically linked by Orange chromosomes...they secretly inject you the first day on campus.
Regardless of what happens tonight, we witnessed the greatest conference tournament game EVER. And I'm going to be wearing Orange proudly for the entire weekend.
When The 'Cuse is in the house, oh my God - DANGER!!!
I BLEED ORANGE.
OK I was asleep while most of you were blogging....LOL Soo I will allow it & keep my taser on standby...LOL
CONGRATS SU... I don't really follow college hoops too much but I LOVE sports soo congrats to the UMPALOOMPAH TEAM..(WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.)(THEY WERE ORANGE...LOL)
I may need to take a nap! lol! But yeah gotta be up! Not sure what time the game is...
Rameer, I should have asked you to blog today. Your summation of Orange Pride was perfect. Actually Serena even said that you should blog today. Your comment said it all.
Serena, game should start at 9 EST, another late one :-)
What a game.
I've never seen 6 OT's ... when Thabeet fouled out, I knew we had it.
This is why college basketball is so much better than the NBA.
But is there enough left in the tank to take the title?
Have a great weekend.
V, I know...I thought the same thing about Thabeet, like "YES!" That game was amazing, never seen anything like it. I'd be surprised if they can even WALK today. They basically played two games back to back. I think Serena was seeing cross-eyed last night that game last so long! LOL!!
Maybe they'll be high off the win and do it again tonight off of adrenaline alone!
Zay Buge!!!!
Yo..that was an amazing game...i lost my voice last night.....screaming in the club while watching the game...amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing game....i thought i was going to black out! WOW!!!
Isaiah - I don't black out...I ORANGE OUT...
Lol! Honestly, Brooke - I WOULD'VE blogged id you had asked me! I have so much energy in me today after that win. It's like I took Gummi Berry juice (80's cartoon reference for you older heads). Can't nobody say SQUID-DOT to me all day - I KNOW our ish don't stink!
I actually was worried my comment was gonna seem like THE blog...I know I have diarrhea of the keyboard sometimes...kind like my mouth when I get hyped up...
Sorry for all these damned typos. I'm still hyped! I walked into my newsroom today and just screamed with no explanation...and no one said a word. Cuz they all KNEW.
I BLEED ORANGE. BLEED IT.
I feel you Rameer! And I was hoping that you WOULD comment today, cuz I was so hyped last night that I just threw anything up on the blog. Your words did it justice!
Everyone at my job today was like "I know someone who's probably happy and tired today" cuz they all knew too! Well, maybe my SU baseball cap had something to do with it too ;)
I'm spilling over Orange today!
I am so exhausted today! But it is a good tired. I got up mad early cause I had to check out of this hotel. I am like falling asleep writing this blog..lol
I am writing the shit on my phone again. I will have to finish it when I get to the Bronx
The Bronx? Watch for Benny Blanco, Ant...

Rameer: We miss your commentary on the other blog!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Now you know Rameer is over and out on the other blog...I'm staying over here. When he said something winked at him that did it for me. LOL!
