Luscious Liz!

Hola mi gente!

First let me apologize to Liz (and all of you) for not posting her video blog yesterday. I was giddy from the Eagles win, so I was focused on posting a pic of my gorgeous nephew in his Eagles jersey :-) And my blog yesterday was so long that I just wanted to finish it and I neglected to add Liz's update. So with that said, let's check in with her!

Yay Liz!

Now, I remember on Liz's first video blog, she said she wanted to get healthy for herself and that her boo loved her just the way she was. I think it's great to have a support system of loved ones who walk your journey with you, but would love you no matter what journey you took. That got me to thinking about all the beautiful, voluptuous, sexy, full figured women out there who snag awesome men.

Last night, I went to the launch party of our new series "Manhunters: Fugitive Task Force." And when I say "our" I mean A&E Television Networks. The new series premieres tonight on A&E at 10P (yes, a shameless plug but this show has given me MANY a damn headache, so I would appreciate it if you all could set your dvr to watch it, thanks!) The show is about US Marshals hunting fugitives. If you're into crime shows, you'll like this one (Annamaria), so tune in and let me know what you think!

We invited the US Marshals from NYC, Newark, NJ and Connecticut last night to screen a couple of episodes. Can I just say, there was something that made me a little tingly about being surrounded by a couple hundred men packin' heat. All I could think of was "I wonder how many guns are in this room?" Sexy ass menzes all ready to blast a fool at a moment's notice...woo-wee!!! Loved it!

But what I also noticed was that some of them brought their wives/girlfriends. Not a lot, but a few...so I got to enjoy the view without worrying about some chick catching me checking out her man :-) And most of the women they were with were thick, lovely, stacked, brick-house women. There were a few Barbie Dolls in the room - but for the most part, these were grown-ass, curvy, vivacious women.

That made these men even sexier to me. They were hugged up and proud to be with these women. These men were the epitome of fitness and they were with women that, even though they may tip the scales a little heavier, you knew the Marshals could pick their behinds up and throw them across the room if they wanted to!

I got the feeling that these men PREFERRED their women this way and it made me think - "are there more chubby chasers out here than we think?" LOL!!

Are you a man that LOVES fuller figured women, that PREFER them? Women, have you ever dated a man who said to you, "don't lose too much weight girl, I need something to hold on to"?

We're so used to seeing Hollywood's version of beauty that we forget that there are a whole group of women out there who fit someone else's standard of what beauty is. There are websites for full figured women to subscribe to just for the men who love them. Jamie Foxx says he has a crush on Oprah - BIG Oprah.

But I think it goes a little bit deeper than simply being attracted to a certain physical type. I'm sure if Oprah were a mean-spirited bitch, Jamie wouldn't find her so sexy. I'm sure if Liz's man thought she was a selfish heffa, he wouldn't want her no matter what her size. Sexy is as sexy does. Through all of life's ups and downs - the push and pull of living, the stresses, the disappointments and the fear we are taught along the way - sometimes we forget to be open to giving and receiving the love we were born to give and receive. We become judgmental rather than compassionate. We shun communicating soul to soul, because it means risking revealing our true selves. We give in to our insecurities.

But Liz is a prime example of having the courage to love your beautiful self. This journey she is on is not just about pounds and inches. It's about peeling away layers of fear, insecurities, and unhealthy thoughts while growing in awareness of God's many blessings, the renewing power of love and strength and loving herself the entire time along the way.

While I may have forgotten to post her video blog, I am constantly reminded of her strength, her willingness to share, her courage and her larger than life personality and determination. All of that is what makes her sexy, desirable, and attractive - and I can see why Leo loves her - just the way she is.

First of all...HAHA RENE I AM FIRST!!!
Second of all GO ON WITH YOUR BAD ASS SELF LIZ!!!
Last of all personally as I've said before I think some of the most beautiful women in the world are bigger women. Not only physically but because all of the bigger women that I've known have taught me soo much. They've taught me about confidence, loving yourself & soo much more. A lot of us skinny b*tches are missing that! lol
Anywayws I personally think that no matter what size you are as long as you are happy & healthy just be happy that you are who you are. And find a mate that loves you no matter what.

Annamaria-Since you posted first you can get tased first! LOL!

Liz-Great job! Keep it up! It is really inspiring to see you do this!

At teh end of the day it is important that you love yourself. We are not perfect beings and must love ourselves for who we are.

You must be able to love yourself to love someone else. That person must love you for who you are.

-Brooke I see you have to throw another Eagles jab in there today.
It's all good!

I love you Annamaria....you're a nut! Hee Hee Hee

I've always been a "big girl" from a size 26 to a size 12 and now at a size 14...always a thick Mama. (~_~) And no matter what my mommy always made sure I carried it well. For me losing weight and keeping it off has always been about health and comfort...
I've never been with a man who wanted me skinny, but I did deal with an idiot that always reminded me of what I was putting in my mouth. Ugh!!!

My Hunny loves the way I am, actually he told me I'm the smallest woman he's ever been in a relationship with. LOL

Like with everything else, it all starts from within and of course being healthy is important also.

I know it was late for yesterdays blog but whats up with a response?????

Anyway.....Big girls got it going on....I think it matters though if you look sloppy or if you carry it well like Peggy said. And you can not underestimate a pretty face. How many times have you seen in a movie a girl with a slim nice figure and then she turns and looks like Shanaynay. And the guy is immediately turned off....So I think it boils down to an attractive face, a confident swagger, and confidence!!!! So I say take that skinny bitches!!!!!!!
A lot of the skinny girls I know are always putting themselves down worried about everything that touches their mouth and just seem uncertain of themselves. Always asking if something makes them look fat while big girls say does this make me look Phat!!! At the same time my pleasingly plump pals we do have to get healthy!!!!! Way to go Liz!!!!

Well I'll holla

yeah I said confident twice Brooke!!!! Confidence is key!!!!!

LOL

I think it totally depends on the person's confidence and how they carry themselves and what's insides. They have to have depth to them.

Someone who is just like a barbie or Ken doll that looks good on the outside and has nothing else going on is not going to last in the long run.

Rene: I do the tasing I don't get tased!
Peggy: I love ya too & you are freaking fabulous just the way you are & it is totally obvious that he adores you.
I agree with Nicole 100%. Just cause someone is little doesn't mean that they have a cute face. And I think that there are more overweight people with beautiful faces than there are skinny people with beautiful faces.

Although I'm pretty darn cute for a lil person! LOL...

Annamaria-Do you own a taser? With all the smack you are talking. I hope you do! lol

Anonymous said...

Mind your BEESWAX! LMAO
I must plead the 5th on that one as a resident of NY a state that it is ILLEGAL to own a taser in... BUT don't worry if I don't have a taser I DO HAVE A KNIFE! LOL

Rene The Harlemite said...

Listen, as I said last week...Don't being a knife to a gun fight. LOL! Maybe you should look into Domestic Immunity so you can have your taser. LOL!

Domestic immunity??? What's that?? Would that really allow me to have a taser??? OMG YOU JUST MADE MY DAY! You are my new BFF! lol

Okay, I'm gonna try to leave a comment from my phone :-) MoMo, Ms. Princess, Liz and the rest of AETN are at our company holiday party so they may respond tomorrow. But thank you all for keeping the conversation going! Be back later!

First and foremost, I love my wife to death. I wouldn't change her for the world. So if by some chance the "blitch" figures out who this is, I'm only joking honey!!!!! BTW, "BLITCH" is our special word. So don't use it! :-)

My wife is what you would call a slim chick. She wears a 5/6 and she has rocks size 32A bra. Yes I said 32A ... That wasn't a typo. Again, I love my wife to death but the "blitch" needs some weight! That's right I said it. I want more than a teaspoon of ta-tas. Give me the 32oz jugs! Drown me with some OVER SIZED tits any day.

Also, during our intimate moments when I grab her ass I shouldn't feel BONE. Come on now .... BONY ASS!!!!!!! Baby, the ass is one place on the body where a woman should have some fat.

I bring this up because every now and then I miss me a BIG girls! So BIG girls, do you and and be happy. Do worry about losing weight. Just concern yourself with being healthy.

Brooke-lyn, now "you're speaking my crack-a-lacking language!" You set this post up proper (uh-oh Hammer).
Liz, you go gurl! To have the courage to defiantly fight urge with your determination and will is 90% of the battle. 5% is rallying support to keep you focused - you clearly have accomplished that, judging by the love shown to you by us (AETN crew) and the followers of Brooke-lyn's blog. The remaining 5% is the energy you exert to lose and keep the weight off. Everyone of us knows what that struggle is like, whether it's losing 5 or 50 lbs. I admire your stamina and applaud your effort babes.
All right Brooke-lyn, you haven't been a part of the plus-size click for long (I've seen the pic of you going to the prom looking like Roxanne Shanté). Let me break it down so that it can forever and eternally be brooookkke. I was born in this big-girl game. I came into the world like a heavy-weight champion entering a bout in the ring. "In this corner, weighing in at 7lbs, 9 oz.!"
Our culture puts such a stigma on being plus-size. People often make fun of you or worse, make judgments about you. We have to teach young girls who have a little extra meat on them about feeling good about yourself and how to ignore what people say about you. Thinner girls don't have the same hardships. Big girls are built tough, like a Michelin tire. We're fighters because we have to protect our feelings. But now the times have changed because there are so many young people who are of larger size. I remember once upon a time, stores like Lane Bryant and Ashley Stewart only sold blouses and long skirts and cotton undergarments. Now, they have mini skirts, Vicki Secrets-esque lingerie, low-cut shirts. When I'd dropped some weight a couple of years ago, I was pissed to find the stores carrying clothing for sizes 0-12 did have the same high fashion sense as Ashley's. It's cool to have some cushion for the pushing and be bootyliscious (thanks Bey and you too Tocarra - hey gurl!). Hell, even Melman and Moto-Moto (Madagascar 2) likes'em "big...and chunky"<--for you Brooke-lyn. **playing MLK's I Have A Dream** It makes me proud to be an American. "I have a dream that...one day [we will] live in a nation where [we] will not be judged by the amount of cellulite in our thighs or flab in our belly but by the content of their character. I have a dream today y'all!"
And that's all I have to say about that. Spread love my people.

Brooke said...

Princess, you crack me up! LOL!! Moto Moto was funny as hell! "cuz you BIG...you CHUNKY!" LMAO!

I've been part of the plus sized click for a LOONG minute now! My prom days are LONG GONE :-) Although I DO have a pic of me in college with your boy Rene the Harlemite that you all might be shocked to see. Maybe I'll post it for Random Thoughts Thursday! :)

Your comments are always so thought provoking and funny...so Princess...get your blog up!
